Cutthorpe Play Park, Brampton Parish Council

Case Study
Two years ago, the local community in Cutthorpe recognised the pressing need to upgrade the existing play park. As the park had aged considerably, it became apparent that expansion was necessary to accommodate the growing number of children in the village.
To address this concern, Cutthorpe Matters, a local village charity, reached out to Brampton Parish Council, the owners of the recreation ground where the park was located. They presented an initial concept outlining the requirements for a new park, and the council quickly agreed to support the project, if grant funding could be secured.
Cutthorpe Matters approached the Valencia Communities Fund, an organisation dedicated to supporting park development in the area through the landfill communities grant. Thanks to the invaluable assistance of the Valencia Communities Fund, the project gained momentum. The park design process commenced, involving active participation from the local community and local fundraising efforts to cover 10% of the project's cost.
Discussions with potential park installers were initiated, leading to the selection of Wicksteed as the final choice to design and install the new park.
Through the collective determination and hard work of the local community and the support of the Parish Council, the project was successfully completed within the span of two years.
