Work began on the incredible new playground at Dare Valley Country Park for Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council in April 2020 and the play area was completed in May.
Vision for the play area
The new playground equipment at Dare Valley is part of the council’s £1.4m vision for the park which is utilising significant £900,000 funding from the Valleys Taskforce, via the Valleys Regional Park initiative, and an additional £500,000 funding through the RCTinvest capital programme.
A bespoke timber centrepiece
Top of the list of requirements for the play area was a bespoke timber centrepiece multi-play unit. The design team at Wicksteed pulled on their extensive playground design knowledge to produce a breath-taking unit that is unique to the site and works beautifully with the topography of the space. The new play area at Dare Valley Country Park is one of many successful projects that Wicksteed have completed for Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council.
Inclusive Play Features
The new unit has an abundance of inclusive play features including, play panels, easy access ramps, wide slides and shelters. Wicksteed firmly believes in creating playgrounds for all children and the new unit at Dare Valley ensures that children of all ages and abilities can have plenty of fun.
