Wicksteed expands into Irish shores

Wicksteed expands into Irish shores - Due to further expansion, Wicksteed Playscapes is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Mike Callaghan as Area Sales Manager for both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Mike joins the sales team and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.  Having been promoting Wicksteed's sports and playground equipment in both areas for the past 15 years, Mike has a great deal of understanding of the ranges and services Wicksteed offers.

This exciting move further increases Wicksteed's impressive market territory with sales in 2009 reaching such far flung places as Kuwait, Hong Kong, Jamaica, India, Israel and Nigeria whilst sales in many European countries continue to grow apace.

Based in Bangor, Co. Down and ready to assist with any outdoor play equipment, safety surfacing and sports product requirements such as multi-use games areas and skateparks, Mike is delighted to be representing Wicksteed in this new role and says: "I've spent years representing Wicksteed through agents in Northern Ireland and also in the Republic of Ireland and I'm delighted that Wicksteed has decided to set up a local base here.  There's no doubt this move will help increase our presence and customer service."

Clear in the knowledge that Wicksteed is a constantly evolving company, Mike is keen to emphasise the importance of progression: "I'm not underestimating what is required of me in the next few months, there has been a huge amount of product and service development within Wicksteed in the past year - a lot of which existing customers are perhaps unaware - culiminating in the launch of the massive new product book which has just been unveiled."

With the strength of the complete Wicksteed machine behind him, Mike's enthusiasm knows no bounds: "Personally, I am really excited at the prospect of getting out and discussing how the play market is changing.  This is the perfect position for me; being at the cutting edge of the play industry with Wicksteed as the recognised market leader at the helm."
