Welwyn Hatfield District Council were recently the proud winners of a Fantasy Funrun & Spring Mobile, courtesy of Wicksteed’s Golden Prize Award, won by Colin Jones - Play Area Administrative Officer, at the highly acclaimed SALTEX Exhibition in September. Following a golden theme, Wicksteed very generously gave specially invited visitors to their stand the chance to win a major item of play equipment for the council, school or favourite charity of the lucky winner’s choice.
Colin is seen here with colleagues Tony Lyall – Premises Manager and Shane Phillips - Playground Services Officer with Wicksteed’s Managing Director - Phil Holden and Sales Manager - Andy Love. One of only three winners, Colin was heard to say: “It is great that the young children in the area will benefit from my good fortune.”
The Fantasy Funrun modular fitness trail, designed to promote fitness and active play amongst children within a wide age and ability range, was installed at the Farm Close Play Area, a site chosen by the Council as it was in need of additional play facilities. These new items will not only enhance the area, but also provide more interesting and challenging exercise for the users. Wicksteed is well known to Welwyn Hatfield District Council, as supplying innovative, yet highly durable play equipment to local authorities throughout the UK.
