Stanley Park playground scores for Liverpool

Stanley Park playground scores for Liverpool :

Stanley Park playground scores for Liverpool - A tough challenge, but the new playground certainly is impressive! Located in the expansive stretch of land famous for linking the two Merseyside football teams, Everton and Liverpool, is Stanley Park. Regarded as one of the Britain’s most historic parks, it now boasts a fantastically refurbished playscape designed by Wicksteed in the shape of the World Cup. The Northamptonshire-based company was awarded the huge contract by Liverpool City Council and both parties were keen to involve children from local schools in the initial design and product choice for the revitalised playground.

This enormous play area, now transformed into a wonderfully diverse selection of play equipment catering for kids of all ages, is a very popular place to be, and it has made a huge difference to the local community.

Towering above the site at one end of the scheme is Wicksteed’s Matrix K2; a gigantic, pyramid structure with slides and rope ladder attachments linked to a plethora of many platforms and panels, configured to challenge and delight. The views from the top span right across to Liverpool’s famous city centre. The old and new, side by side; the Matrix and other equally imaginative play systems and products created by the Wicksteed team for the park playground, offset the Grade II listed Conservatory built by Gladstone in 1899. << back to media centre
