Sherriff of Nottingham opens new play area:

Sherriff of Nottingham opens new play area - A massive £222,500 has just been invested in the exciting development of Chediston Vale Park in Nottingham which includes a fantastic new play area complete with a multi-use games area, exercise equipment, and landscaped natural play elements.

Northamptonshire-based company Wicksteed Playscapes, was chosen to design and create this impressive playground and sports area, which was partly funded by a variety of organisations including Nottingham City Council, the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) through the Pathfinder play programme, and the Primary Care Trust.  This exciting and prestigious project breathes new life into this part of Nottingham.

The opening, officiated by The Sherriff of Nottingham, Councillor Brian Grocock, was a real community event, with many local services providing their support, such as the Community Police.  Children and their parents were also encouraged to start the planting of a dedicated wild flower area.  The rejuvenated site will provide plenty of opportunities for local residents of all ages to not only enjoy the new landscaped play area, but also to improve their fitness levels along the way!
