Playbuilder - Rothwell
Contract Description
Kettering Borough Council had £50k of funding from Playbuilder - through the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) plus an additional £6k donated by a County Councillor to refurbish a previously neglected play space. Their brief was to include prescriptive play alongside natural elements, as well as refurbishing an existing swing and seating.
Clients Comments
"Wicksteed Playscapes have successfully transformed a problem site with a good mix of natural elements and equipment. It is the extras like the Rock seats and the gravel labyrinth that really give it a sense of place. The bridge is a huge hit, children are encouraged to invent play rather than it being prescribed; I have witnessed all sorts of creative games being played". Sarah Parr, Landscape Development Officer, Kettering Borough Council.
