Stanley Park Playground

This exciting playground was designed by Wicksteed in the shape of the World Cup and displays innovative and enthralling playground equipment for kids of all ages. Stanley Park playground in Liverpool, one of Britain's most historic parks famous for linking the two Merseyside football teams, Everton and Liverpool, is undergoing massive restoration work in all aspects and Wicksteed was given the task of redesigning and refurbishing its play area.

In this significant contract awarded by Liverpool City Council, the huge play area has undergone a dramatic facelift. Consultation with local school children meant that this project, as with many other recent refurbishments Wicksteed has undertaken, really did involve the end users. The kids were asked to choose their preferred pieces of equipment for the site and were shown various playscheme visuals from which to select their favourites.

Dominating the site is the massive Matrix K2, a towering, multi-play structure designed to challenge and exercise those right through from 8 to adult. It's true to say that there's a bird's eye view from the top of this very tall unit! A funky Pendulum Swing with basket seat for all ages has been installed alongside the modular Mystical World unit which will enthrall the younger element. There are also swings, climbers, springies, rockers, play panels and many other items of play equipment to help keep the local community happy and healthy. Completing the total look of the play area are colourful thermoplastic ground graphics - an addition which can be made to any asphalt surface and limited only by the imagination!
