Smugglers' Theme captivates young crew
Ask the children what they want in their playgrounds and they will happily tell you! That is exactly what happened in Christchurch, Dorset. The proposed project went for public consultation twice ~ firstly, the children were asked to choose what type of equipment they'd hope to see in their park, then Christchurch went out to tender clutching these children's "wish list" in their capable hands.
Their wish was Christchurch Borough Council's command, in the inspirational form of Wicksteed's design! Senior Technical Officer, Carina Gallacher, then announced that their chosen scheme was the winner. According to Carina, these very important advisors "were captivated by the ingenious Smugglers' Theme of Wicksteed's design." As the picture shows it has transformed the site into a very colourful play area for the young people of Christchurch.
