The playground slide is a staple feature of a children's playground, and it’s often the first thing children go for.
The Wicksteed Pedestal Playground Slide is designed to be space saving and safe; its single, strong pedestal eliminates the need for any additional supports that could project into the play area and cause children to trip and fall. This playground slide design also makes for easier and quicker installation.
It is part of Wicksted Leisure's philosophy to cater for as wide an age group as possible. That's why we offer the pedestal playground slide in three different heights:
Low Pedestal Slide - Age range 4 to 7 yrs;
Medium Pedestal Slide - Age range 7 to 10 yrs;
High Pedestal Slide - Age range 10 to 14 yrs.
Wicksteed are also dedicated to the provision of play equipment that promotes integrated play. The Wide Slide or Double-width Playground Slide, also of 'pedestal' design, allows children with special needs to play alongside their able-bodied friends or be assisted by carers. Play panels from our Tropica Multi-Play range can also be incorporated at the lower level of this playground slide.
The Wicksteed Embankment Slide for 5 to 12 year olds has six lengths to choose from and is ideal for sloping sites. It is an equally suitable Playground Slide concept for schools as well as for public playgrounds and for children's areas in leisure and catering outlets.
Every Wicksteed playground slide has split tube safety edges. All metalwork on Wicksteed slides is pre-treated with a zinc metal thermal spray, finished with a polyester powder coating conforming to BS 5665 and EN 71 and fastened with tamper-resistant fixings. Each Wicksteed playground slide carries a 25-year Metalwork Guarantee against structural failure and a 5-year Paintwork Guarantee against corrosion (excluding wear & tear and damaged caused by vandalism).
