Natural Play Designs

Greening Road, Rothwell

With £50K of funding from Playbuilder - through the Department of Children, Schools and Families, plus an additional £6,000 donated by a County Councillor, the refurbishment by Wicksteed of this previously neglected play space at Greening Road, Rothwell, proves that children can have it all - an attractive natural environment and exciting adventure play equpment.

Sarah Parr - Landscape Development Officer at Kettering Borough Council says:

"Wicksteed Playscapes has successfully transformed a problem site with a good mix of natural elements and equipment.  It is the extras such as the log and rock seats and the gravel labyrinth that really give it a sense of place.  The bridge is a huge hit, children are encouraged to invent play rather than it being prescribed; I have witnessed all sorts of creative games being played."
