Play Area in Windlesham's Field of Remembrance gets facelift

Play Area in Windlesham's Field of Remembrance gets facelift:

Play Area in Windlesham's Field of Remembrance gets facelift - Thanks to Surrey Heath Borough Council's Community Fund and a lot of other help, there is now a delightful new play area in Windlesham!

WICKSTEED PLAYSCAPES was one of three suppliers involved in this scheme, masterminded by the Play Area Task Force fromed from Trustees of the Windlesham Field of Remembrance Charitable Trust.  One of the trustees, and chair of the Task Force Team, Sally Gerrard commented that "The play area was incredibly run down and in much need of a facelift.  This lovely new park will benefit hundreds of children for many years to come."

Funded in part through Surrey Heath Borough Council's Community Fund, £13,000 worth of pledged money, including money from fundraisers, a £3,000 grant from Surrey County Council and the offer from two businesses to purchase a piece of equipment each, the new play area will be officially opened in mid November.

Catering for kids of all abilities from the ages of 2 to 12, the products chosen were kept in quite a traditional style as the trustees felt that it was important that the new play equipment, surfacing and seating blended in well with the local surroundings.  Items such as the Tom Thumb unit, a Toni Turtle sit-in springie and the ever-popular Spiro Whirl roundabout were just some of the selections chosen from Wicksteed's extensive range.
