Natural woods lead the way for play

Natural woods lead the way for play :

Natural woods lead the way for play - For the second year running, the sun shone on PlayFair 2010, the leading play event for the UK, where Wicksteed Playscapes drew visitors to its stand with a bold display of creative timber play equipment.

Textural pathways meandered through the landscaped space showcasing a taster of what Wicksteed can offer for those looking to create an exciting and bespoke play area for all ages.

The warm, tactile, organic feel of pine was brought to life with the launch of the new Adventure Play range which, due to its incredible size and features, offers challenging play for older children.  The extradorinary unit includes ladders, towers and rope bridges stretching across crazily-angled posts with random notches to ease the climbing process yet retain some element of risk.

The quirky Pick Up Sticks is an ingenious development involving a series of interwoven wooden beams created to look as if they have been randomly thrown together.  This product offers a range of climbing, jumping and balancing opportunities for children aged 8 upwards and also caused a lot of interest at the event.

Two impressive wooden Totem Poles towered either side of the entrance - both having been hand-carved by a local craftsman - again offering a bespoke, unique product to the customer.
