National Play Day:
National Play Day - Wicksteed Playscapes was splendidly represented at a special Play Day event this year where the company's play and sports equipment was put to particularly significant use during a nationwide celebration of children's outdoor play.
A fantastic new play area at Douglas Park in Forest Heath, Suffolk, was one of the many settings for this year's National Play Day event. Bringing together local communities to enjoy the brand new facilities was a great way to embrace the joys of playing and keeping fit outdoors.
Wicksteed Playscapes had transformed the area into a landscape-led play arena with plenty of challenging and exciting play equipment installed in a gently undulating environment. One of the biggest hits was Wicksteed's scarily high Hurricane Swing for which visitors were queuing up to have a go!
Another major enticement was Wicksteed's extraordinary PlayAlive - a satellite-led electronic play system which beeps and flashes. Both teams and individuals clambered over its spider-shaped frame, taking part in adrenalin-pumping competitive games along the way.
Funded by Forest Heath District Council and the Suffolk County Council Playbuilder grant programme, this many-faceted play space has made a huge difference to the locals and is a great place for the whole family.
Councillor Simon Flack, Member Champion for Out Reach Projects for Young People, said: "This is a brilliant new play area with suitable areas for children of different ages to play in a safe environment and have fun."
