Keep on the grass with a Wicksteed Playbuilder Playscape!:
Keep on the grass with a Wicksteed Playbuilder Playscape! - With £50k of funding from Playbuilder - through the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), and an additional £6,000 donated by a County Councillor, the refurbishment by Wicksteed Playscapes of this community play space at Greening Road, Rothwell, proves that children can have it all; an attractive, natural environment plus exciting adventure equipment.
Boulders to climb on, logs to scramble over or use as seating and a grass-covered undulating bridge and tunnel on which to play a multitude of games, give the playground a special, earthy feel. Yet the thrills of swinging, climbing and bouncing can also be experienced with the Yo-Yo Swing, Jumping Tarantula and Mystical World multi-play adventure system.
The local community are ecstatic about the complete transformation of the area into this fun-filled playable space which also enhances the natural environment.
Councillor Russell Roberts from Kettering Borough Council stated: "We recognise at Kettering Borough Council that play is vital to a child's development and I'm delighted that, yet again, we have been able to provide a challenging, but safe, play experience for children."
