Hi-tech more than Hi-de-Hi!:
Families expect holiday park facilities to be more hi-tech than Hi-de-Hi!
The credit crunch has led more and more families to opt for a holiday park break over sun and sea abroad – but they won’t stand for a simple ‘hello campers’ welcome anymore.
Park owners need to offer activity, adventure and adrenalin for all the family if they are to keep up with the competition – and sports and play equipment manufacturer Wicksteed Playscapes has just the solution.
The Northamptonshire-based company has been helping inject some extra energy and innovation into Church Farm - a Haven holiday park near Bognor Regis, recently, with the installation of its visually stunning Matrix agility system for kids. The towering triangle reaches up to 6.5 metres tall and has ingenious climbing nets and panels, which are guaranteed to engage even the most testing teenagers!
Wicksteed has also installed a multi-use ball court and two tennis courts which offer a huge array of activities for the very young, and the young at heart – from basketball, football, hockey, cricket, netball and, of course, tennis. Commenting on the new equipment, a Haven spokesman said: “This is the best £50,000 we have spent on play equipment for many years!”
Wicksteed’s Business Development Manager, Andy Love, added: “Part of the appeal to families visiting theme and holiday parks is the provision of suitable sports and play equipment to keep kids happily and healthily exercising. Such an area needs to be a fun-filled and safe environment where groups of all ages can play and interact. Wicksteed knows what children want from their play areas and offers some fantastic playscapes and multi-use sports arenas to keep them physically challenged and mentally stimulated – and this can be very important for holidaying mums and dads, too!”
